Twenty Five Months
My lovely husband doctored up the background for me. I honestly dislike computers, because one can get completely lost in time when engrossed in such things...but I think photoshop would be loads of fun to learn, especially since I take TONS of photos of Diego. Hubby dearest sold my Dell (he is so through with Dell) and ordered me a mini laptop which I should be getting this week. I can't wait to get my little, portable, soon-to-take-all-my-time-away friend.
Diego has blown me away in all that he's been learning day by day. I can't even keep up with his vocabulary. If the doctor were to ask me how many words I think he says (I love when they ask that question) I would give him a dumbfounded look and simply say "an innumerous amount," and leave it that.
I have to say that I am very proud of myself. I may only work part time, but that is still an average of 29 hours a week that I am away from my eebie. Then there's errands, chores, house cleaning, groceries, laundry, bill paying (the list goes on). With all that going on, I am surprised that I have it in me to be able to sit and teach him anything. It definitely takes much extra effort to be consistent. However, with God's grace for the both of us, Diego catches on relatively quickly, and that leaves mommy with no excuse for impatience.
The newest things he has learned are his colors! He knows Green, Blue, Yellow ( yeyow), Red, Black, and White. He is very enthusiastic about it, too. He is also learning how to count. He holds up each little digit on his hand in beat to my count. It took him some practice to get the "4" right...holding down the thumb with the rest of his fingers up was a little challenging. He is also learning to verbally count. He counts to 11 after me. The only digit he identifies right now is "6," and we are working on the rest. He also loves his alphabet. We sing it together, and sometimes he sings a part of it on his own til he forgets what comes next and then waits for me.
